Hey! I am Anuj Kumar Singh. I work as a researcher at the Laboratory of Optics and Quantum Materials (LOQM) in the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B).
I graduated from the University of Lucknow and joined IIT-B in January 2019. While in college, I developed and nurtured my passion for photonics research. When I joined LOQM, it was just a room. We glorified our research lab with my supportive colleagues Lekshmi Eshwarmoorthy and Kishor Kumar Mandal and my dynamic supervisor Prof. Anshuman Kumar. The covid-19 pandemic was a huge obstacle for this trip, but we took advantage of this time and planned everything. In four years, we build LOQM as the best quantum optical characterization laboratory in photonics and two-dimensional material growth and processing laboratory. At LOQM, we can perform micro-PL, micro-Raman, micro-reflection and transmission measurements, g(2) measurements, fiber-integrated photonic chip characterization, automatic fiber tapering, and deterministic 2D material flake transmission setups.
Outside the classroom, I have experience as President, Vice President, and Treasure of the Photonics Student Chapter IIT-B sponsored by OPTICA (formerly Optical Society of America) and IEEE Photonics Society. I also had many management responsibilities at the hostel level which improved my management skills.
